Need to know

Mana and her crew are highly experienced in our Antarctic waters and have spent more time at sea than on land. They will keep you safe and comfortable as you explore our bountiful Southern Ocean. Although both the boat and the crew are comfortable in rough seas, we will only leave the safety of the harbour based on the weather and your level of comfort.

Dress for the outdoors, it can get cold when you venture this far south!
Bring your sea legs and wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking.

Car parking available by boat berth/ferry terminal.

Upon request, we’re able to organise a local eatery to prepare your catch along with Shane’s personal crumb and seasoning packs.

Shane Bryan

Coming from a long line of indigenous fishermen, Shane will share the stories and beliefs which have been handed down for generations.

Shane Bryan purchased Mana Charters in 2017 to combine more than 20 years of commercial fishing experience with his ancestral stories and provide guided fishing tours around New Zealand’s southernmost waters.

Growing up in the pearl of the south Shane worked as a fisherman from the age of 15 and has an enviable wealth of nautical experience. He enjoys meeting new people and sharing what’s special about the town he calls home.

“We love the freedom that comes from being out on the water and sharing the joy that people experience when they catch their first fish. The climate here creates an excellent fishing environment – we call it Bluff-topia, it’s like a paradise!”
